Sunset Tour – Evening Kayak Tour
€56 per person
Experience Korčula’s archipelago in one of its most beautiful moments – as the sun begins to set and the islands are bathed in warm evening light.
This tour follows a similar route to our popular Bits of History experience, taking you to the islands of Vrnik and Badija, as well as a hidden final stop – but in a shorter, more time-efficient format, perfect for the late afternoon.
We begin with a relaxed introduction to kayaking and provide all the equipment you need, making this experience ideal even for complete beginners. Guests often tell us how quickly they feel comfortable, allowing them to fully enjoy the experience from the very start.
As we paddle through the archipelago, you’ll still explore the same unique locations – from the stone quarries of Vrnik to the peaceful paths of Badija with its monastery, olive trees, and deer – all while enjoying the softer light and quieter atmosphere of the early evening.
Our final stop is a secluded spot, where we pause to swim, relax, and take in the surroundings as the day slowly comes to an end. For many guests, this moment becomes the highlight of their stay.
To complete the experience, we serve a selection of local and homemade delicacies: canapés with salted anchovies, cheese, and local olive oil, our traditional homemade pastries called “Klašun”, and a glass of our family-produced Grk white wine. As the sun sets, this simple moment turns into something truly special – often described as the perfect ending to the day.
We return with an easy paddle as the last light fades, leaving you relaxed, fulfilled, and connected to the quieter side of Korčula.
This tour is ideal for couples, friends, and anyone looking to explore the Korčula archipelago through local stories, hidden places, and genuine hospitality – while feeling relaxed, safe, and completely taken care of, with the added magic of sunset***

ITINERARY
- The tour starts from Tatinja Bay in Lumbarda. After meeting your guide and completing 20 min safety briefing and training session at sea, we will start with the tour.
- Our first stop will be a small Island called Vrnik with old quarries dating from Antiquity to later ones in 20th century. Numerous buildings and art pieces in Korčula and nearby Dubrovnik were made from stone from Vrnik.
- Our second stop will be an old Franciscan monastery on the island of Badija, which had a turbulent past but managed to keep its beauty.
- The last stop is a small island with no tourist crowds. Since taxi boats do not stop here, we will have it almost for ourselves. Here we take a longer break with time to relax and swim. This stop is reserved for enjoying the most beautiful Sunset and tasting a famous local White wine called "GRK" with canapé sandwiches with anchovies, cheese, and cherry tomatoes, all finished up with a homemade pastry called "Klašun" only to be eaten on Korčula Island.
Logistics & Gear
Where and when do we start?
Our tours typically start at 09:00 or 16:30/16:00/15:30 from our base in Tatinja Bay, Lumbarda.
You can find our exact location on Google Maps right here: Spirit of Korkyra Meeting Point
Do you offer pickups?
Yes! If you aren't staying in Lumbarda, we can pick you up in front of your hotel (Korčula town area, Žrnovo village, etc).
Alternatively, we pick up our guests at the main bus station in Korčula town - on Google Maps here: Main Bus Station Pickup Link. Just let us know in advance if you need a lift.
What should I wear and bring?
To keep you comfortable on the water and during our island walks, we suggest the following:
- Wear: Swimsuit, light shorts, and a t-shirt (lycra/quick-dry is best).
- Protection: Hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen.
- Footwear: Water shoes or strapped sandals like Teva or Keen (flip-flops are okay if you do not have water shoes).
Is there a place to leave my "land clothes"?
Yes! While we provide dry bags for your camera, phone, and towels/spare clothes to take with you, you can also leave your non-essential bags and dry clothes locked on shore.
What kind of specialized equipment do you use?
To ensure a smooth glide through the Adriatic, we use high-end, stable "sit-in" sea kayaks: P&H (Leo/Virgo) or Venture (Jura/Capella) for single paddlers and Prijon Poseidon for doubles. This isn't standard rental gear; these are professional boats chosen for their tracking and comfort.
Safety & Weather
Weather protocols and peace of mind
Your safety is our priority. If the winds (like the Maestral, Bura, or Jugo) exceed safe paddling limits, we may reschedule the tour or offer a full refund. We monitor the forecast hourly and will contact you as early as possible if things look a bit "choppy."
Are there bathrooms on the route?
Facilities are limited once we are out on the smaller islets. There are restrooms in some restaurants and bars on some of the islands, but we recommend using the facilities at home before the tour.
Local Flavors & Homemade Traditions
What kind of refreshments are served on the tour?
We take great pride in sharing the authentic flavors of Lumbarda. On our Bits of History and Sunset Tour, you will enjoy:
- Grk Wine - Family Produced: A world-renowned white wine made from an indigenous grape variety grown exclusively in the sandy vineyards of Lumbarda. It’s a rare, protected local treasure you won’t find anywhere else.
- Homemade "Klašun" Pastries: These traditional cakes are hand-baked by Ivka herself, following a cherished recipe passed down from her aunt. It’s a true taste of Korčula’s culinary heritage.
- Local Savories: We serve cheese and traditional anchovy canapés to complement the wine perfectly.
I have dietary restrictions. Can I still participate?
Definitely. Please notify us 24 hours in advance for vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free requirements so we can prepare a special treat for you.
Don't worry—before every tour, we send a quick check-in to all our guests to gather your info and preferences so we can make sure you're all set! :)
